March 2007

Storage Solutions Ltd opens manufacturing plant at Great Torrington, Devon. The plant once run by the Spur Shelving will manufacture domestic, retail and commercial shelving products. Existing products include bolted and boltless shelving systems packed for retail distribution and medium span archive racks being the core of the product range. The company also has equipment to manufacture a number of twin-slot wall mounted shelving components and an aluminium cantilever range.

April 2007

Storage Solutions Ltd acquires manufacturing equipment from Nicholl and Wood the manufacturers of Zamba shelving who entered voluntary liquidation this month. The equipment will bolster production at Torrington and has enabled the rapid development of a series of new products using the best designs from both the Spur and Zamba lines.

May 2007

Mike Tucker former President of SEMA and MD of Linpac Storage Systems has joined Storage Solutions Ltd to run manufacturing operations. Peter Sully said "Mike has already made a big impact and we have seen huge surges in productivity as best practice is introduced. This sea change in production methods combined with the new products we have developed will enable us to move the business forward at a much greater pace than previously anticipated." August 2007

Green initiative pays dividends as Storage Solutions shelving manufacturing operations reduces gas consumption by 60%.

The Storage Solutions team were celebrating after profits were given a healthy boost by introducing a wide range of environmentally friendly measures at the Torrington site. Peter Sully said "Most of the changes cost just a few pounds to introduce and probably paid back the same day. This is clearly good for business and for the environment." Some of the changes have made very real improvements to productivity and low bake powder coating technology has improved productivity.

The company now plans further initiatives and will progressively upgrade the systems to further improve efficiency and is aiming for an additional 20% saving in the coming months.

September 2007

Storage Solutions catalogue and web sales office has been relocated to operate from the Torrington site in Devon. The move will create space for the expansion of the projects office at Stanford in the Vale and offer better support from the new dedicated team. Warehousing operations will be merged over the coming months, combining all storage at a single distribution centre in Torrington benefiting from lower costs.

The strategic changes brought about by the set up of the manufacturing operation are expected to be complete by December 07 ready for when efforts will be switched to grow the manufacturing and projects business for 2008.

November 2007

Storage Solutions announces record turnover and profits at August year end. With turnover more than doubled against three years ago and the introduction of a manufacturing operation, 2007 is a whirlwind year.

The manufacturing operation is moving ahead of target and this major investment has been financed without the need of additional borrowing. The new division will soon be split from the main business to operate on its own two feet and is expected to be profitable in year one with introduction of efficient working practices and new products.
